Veterans Day Assemblies at FCSD

Earlier this month, students, staff and community members across the Fulton City School District came together to honor Veterans Day and the brave men and women who have served our country. From heartfelt assemblies to student-made displays of gratitude, our schools proudly recognized the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

GRB enjoys first pep rally of the year

Last week, students and staff at G. Ray Bodley took on their first Pep Rally event, taking part in a series of exciting (and silly!) games and competitions. Staff and student organizers promise that this will be the first of several throughout the year.

Attendance Matters!

The Fulton City School District is committed to positive engagement and open communication with our families and students to ensure every student achieves success. We know that regular attendance is essential for your student’s academic and social well-being. We seek your partnership in promoting regular full-day attendance in school for your children whenever they are healthy enough to attend.

Comparing the first quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2024, we've got reasons to celebrate! Thanks to the efforts of both staff and families, we're proud to report the following changes:

  • Number of students considered LOW RISK (less than two days absent this quarter) rose from 40% to 57%!
  • Number of students considered AT RISK (3-4 days absent this quarter) dropped from 29% to 23%!
  • Number of students considered CHRONICALLY ABSENT (more than five days absent this quarter) dropped from 31% to 20%!

Keep up the great work, Fulton! Attendance matters!

If you have any questions or concerns related to your child’s attendance, please contact their classroom teacher, school counselor, school-home liaison and/or building principal.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring your student's success!

FCSD SOARS

This year, FCSD students and staff will work together to SOAR in the classroom and beyond. Our Red Dragons will be able to show:

  • SELF CONTROL: Red Dragons show self-control by making thoughtful choices -- even when it’s hard. Whether it’s staying calm during a disagreement or waiting their turn, Fulton students rise above challenges with focus and maturity.

  • ON-TASK BEHAVIOR: Fulton Red Dragons stay on-task by staying focused and giving their best effort during learning time. They avoid distractions, follow directions, and keep their minds set on reaching their goals—showing the true determination of a Red Dragon.

  • ACHIEVEMENT: Achievement for a Red Dragon means setting goals and working hard to reach them. Whether it's mastering a new math skill or helping a classmate, Fulton students celebrate progress and push themselves to be their best.

  • RESPECT: Red Dragons lead with respect by treating everyone—classmates, teachers, and themselves—with kindness and dignity. In the Fulton City School District, respect fuels a positive, inclusive environment where all can thrive.
